Weigh in #19

An 'OK' result this week, however after a small experiment, I believe that I'm not exactly getting accurate results from my weigh in. Having stopped my mid-week weigh ins, curiosity got the better of me and on Saturday morning, I caved. The result was 112.6 kg, which I was happy with. Out of curiosity again, I weighed in the next day at the same time, to a result of 112.5 kg. Even better.  Now, these weekend weigh ins occurred at approximately 8:30 A.M. Due to having to get to work on a Monday morning, my regular weigh in occurs at around 6:30 A.M.  It is my belief that the 8:30 results are more accurate, with the 2 extra hours allowing the body to fully adjust and get rid of all...uh, let's call it 'waste.' Especially since that after a morning coffee, this waste tends to leave the body quicker.  I'm toying with the idea of making Sunday my weigh in day, so that I'm not rushed and I have plenty of time to get the body...'prepared' shall we say. ...

Fuck the science - Weigh in #18

A disappointing result, and a worrying one as well. I think I might be about to hit a plateau, which would have a huge impact on my ability to reach my goal in time. A mid-week weigh in on Thursday revealed no loss, so I decided to weigh in every day leading up to today. The loss of 0.6 kg occurred over Thursday, and despite hard work, no other loss occurred. This is why I no longer trust - nor will I be utilising - the scientific calculations behind weight loss. Apparently, you can calculate a potential weight loss with this formula... W x 7700 / D = C W is the amount of weight you want to lose. 7700 is the amount of calories in 1 kg of weight. D is the amount of days in which you want to lose the weight. C is the calorie deficit. So, if I want to lose 1 kg a week... 1 x 7700 / 7 = 1100 I would need to create a deficit of 1100 calories from my TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) which is the amount of calories I need to consume to stay the same weight. My current TDEE is 2553, so I ...

Still fed up

Another mid-week weigh in (which I do to ensure I'm on the right track) has revealed my weight hasn't shifted at all. I dread having to face the fact that I may have hit a plateau, meaning that it's going to be difficult to reach my goal. I honestly just feel like throwing in the towel. I'm miserable and exhausted, and I'm losing motivation.

Weigh in #17

Just under a kilogram this week - a tiny bit disappointing, but I did have a big meal mid-week to celebrate reaching my half way point. Not much else to report really - a pretty average week, just keeping on doing my thing and trusting the process. Only 2.3 kg to go until I go from obese to overweight!

The Half-Way Point - Weigh In #16

I had hoped that being the half-way point of my weight loss journey (17 weeks down, 17 to go) I would have reached my half-way weight goal (115.4 kg) However, it was not to be...  I got lower! Again, another week of not trying too hard, just doing my regular thing and trusting in the process.  So, the promised progress pictures...  Same shirt, but 17 weeks and 15.7 kg gone. A noticeable difference, however I am disappointed that I've lost very little as far as the man-boobs go. Unfortunately, my shirts drape over them, making the progress a little harder to see.  However, you can still see a difference. I've even reached a new notch on my belt!  I have only 3.2 kg to lose to reach 111.9 kg, which will see me transfer from 'obese' to 'overweight.' I'll just keep on doing my thing and hope for the best. I won't rest on my laurels however, as I have to be vigilant.  Ultimately, there's very little I can do beyond the recommended basics of weight loss (c...
